Quality and durability

There are many reasons why a manufacturing company needs its own internal laboratory: from monitoring the quality of incoming raw materials and checking the quality of final products to developing materials for use in the rotational molding process, especially in recent times when there is a significant emphasis on sustainable development.

Commercially available materials that are sustainable are mostly designed for injection molding, which has little in common with rotational molding, so we have to adapt the materials to our processing conditions. The work begins with requirements such as the recycled or bio-based content in the final material, mechanical requirements, and rheological requirements. Then, we start the development process.

For this, we use the following equipment in the development of materials:

– Moisture analyzer

– Analytical balance

– Scale

– MFI machine

– Sieve analysis

– Vacuum oven

– Tensile machine

– Impact toughness testing machine

– Laboratory extruder

– Laboratory mill

– Laboratory rotational molding machine

All this equipment allows us to customize and test materials for rotational molding. We also collaborate with various institutions when we need additional characteristics, such as the thermal properties of the material. This enables us to conduct all analyses and practical applications in our laboratory before introducing new materials into large-scale production.

FEA, CAD, CAM, PDM, PLM and more

  • FEA (Finite Element Analysis)

  • With FEA tools, it is possible to perform strength analyses of the final product. Engineers can simulate various loads and usage conditions to check whether the structure is sufficiently strong and reliable. This allows for improvements to be made to the design before actual production.

  • CAD (Computer-Aided Design)

  • The CAD process involves using computer programs to design 3D models of the product to be rotationally molded. This allows engineers to precisely plan the shape, wall thickness, and other details of the product. CAD models serve as the foundation for the subsequent steps in the process.

  • CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing)

  • In the CAM process, computer-aided production planning is used. Based on the CAD model, necessary coded instructions for the rotational molding machine are created. CAM programming includes temperature settings, rotation times, and raw material information to optimize the manufacturing process.

  • PDM (Product Data Management)

  • SolidWorks PDM is a data management system integrated into the SolidWorks CAD environment, allowing us to store and organize engineering CAD data and other documents in a central relational database. It helps with collaboration across departments and branches at various locations, access control and permissions, version and change tracking, and easy file searching. It also integrates with Microsoft Windows Active Directory and supports various CAD workflows, assisting in managing revisions and ensuring that the latest version of a file is always available.

  • PLM (Sustainability) – Product Carbon Footprint

  • Roto products are sustainability-focused. In product development, we always strive to use environmentally friendly materials that can be recycled at the end of their life cycle.
